San Diego (SD) DC & storage lots

On 1/17/19 I sent an associate to track deliveries & verify pics that recently surfaced on Twitter from SD, below are the findings.
The original plan was to track deliveries from mid-afternoon Thursday to Tuesday morning; however, the trip was cut short because the DC is closed Sunday, Monday & Tuesday.
There are 2 lots that feed the SDDC

1. 8888 balboa ave, San Diego
2. 9244 balboa ave, San Diego

Notes
- ~225 total cars combined both lots
-there is only 1.3 million people that live in SD, compared to the 10 million in Los Angeles county
SD DC total deliveries for 2.5 days = 4

Thursday (2pm-close) 0
Friday 0
Saturday 4

Notes
-The surveillance began ~2pm Thursday & ended Saturday 5:30pm
-DC closed Sunday, Monday & Tuesday
-the DC May be “opened” on Tuesday but more for employees to get ready for the upcoming
deliveries, so it’s very rare deliveries are scheduled on Tuesday
-Wednesday & Thursday remain “light” for deliveries. I know I’m going to get asked the question so here’s my answer, “I won’t divulge how I know“
I had a friendly debate this morning with a fellow “Q” regarding another situation that I see unfolding w/ tsla that is very serious & most likely why they have armed security at their clandestine storage lots
I pose the questions here for debate.
What will happen w/all 2018 inventory?
What if people don’t want 2018 models & they only want 2019? what happens to all these cars? If I order a tsla online today, do I get a car made today or from September, October, November, etc?
They should be producing 10,000 cars a week right now, what’s gonna happen to all these?
Me personally, if I go on the Tesla website today and order a car I’m expecting a car made today not three months ago.
My fellow “Q” mentioned this is an industrywide problem & or just discount the cars 3K.
I tend to disagree.
2 big differences

1. The auto manufacturer already got paid from the dealership, so the onus is on the dealership to sell their leftovers.
Also that becomes the salesman job. Two things tesla does not have: dealerships and salesmen.

2. In the fall dealerships may have a handful of 2018 models but not thousands like we see with Tesla.
This could potentially be one of the more catastrophic things facing tsla
The business model of no dealerships & made to order for a mass market car manufacturer is becoming a huge obstacle, also, as a manufacturer it’s not prudent to front all risk & liability of the car from the time it leaves the assembly line until it’s in the customer’s hands
