After over two years as Director of Policy Planning, it’s time to move on and take up new responsibilities. I’m grateful for having worked at a critical area of Brazil’s Foreign Ministry. This position is certainly one of the most exciting and rewarding for a diplomat
Apart from revising and writing different texts, talking points, op-ed’s, and conferences, my team was responsible for researching and drafting dozens of internal policy papers that provided in-depth analysis & recommendations
We teamed up w/ colleagues in charge of adm to implement a pilot project for the establishment of a strategic planning system, combining the identification of major regional and global trends w/ the formulation of strategic objectives & specific goals opiniao.estadao.com.br/noticias/geral…
We were able to strengthen ties w/ academia & think tanks in Brazil and abroad. We also held bilateral consultations w/ policy planners from around the world, enhancing our capacity to assess different perspectives on major international trends and explain Brazilian priorities
We edited the book “The Road Ahead: the 21st-century world order in the eyes of policy planners”, containing 19 essays from directors of policy planning and other high-ranking officials. A contribution to the global conversation on the future of the world order
Everything we accomplished was the result of teamwork and would not have been possible without the professionalism, dedication & friendship of @brazbaracuhy, @pafca, @filipenasser, Denis Ishikawa, Flavio Riche, Simone Dias, @GFRKist, @soldocerrado, @AngrisaniCH
