Trump and Republicans are fine with the shutdown lasting forever. As it continues, it cripples federal law enforcement and the courts. FBI agents will get into financial trouble, and will not be able to keep their jobs because that makes them a security risk.

At national parks, the staff is not allowed to work, and Trump has moved mining and drilling companies into the parks. Enforcement in inspections (food, safety, security) throughout the country is falling apart. Federal courts are running out of money.

TSA is crippled and is collapsing, which will seriously fuck up travel, and therefore the economy.

If anyone needed absolute proof that Trump and the Republicans are ACTIVELY AND KNOWINGLY working for America's enemies--there it is.

They want this.

Trump's rhetoric is no different in direction or intent than Republican spokesliars have been spreading since Nixon. He embraced the Southern Strategy. Trump's racist dogsirens are just the quiet parts of that said out loud, with a bullhorn.

Should the House vote Articles of Impeachment?

Let's agree:
1) Trump is a felon
2) He committed treason
3) His crimes are impeachable
4) If he wasn't president, he would be indicted

Q: What should Democrats do?
A: It's not as simple as it seems.

Here's the nightmare:

The House enacts Articles of Impeachment. GOP Senators don't convict because of course they wouldn't, GOPers portray this as exoneration--Trump is innocent and Democrats are blind partisans. Trump wins a second term and fascists retake the House.

Putting some pieces together...

Cohen just pleaded guilty to lying to Congress about aspects of the Trump Tower Moscow deal. Negotiations went on far longer than Cohen claimed, all the way into June of 2016 at the least.

This matters. A LOT.

Mueller wants Cohen's corrected statements on record, and under oath, which this new guilty please accomplishes. But it isn't a matter merely of Cohen's word. He pleaded guilty to lying because Mueller had proof of his lies laid out in emails and other statements.

It's all in the new criminal information document, in great detail. This presents not only Cohen's lies, contrasting them with the correct facts, but also the proof of those facts--and Cohen's stipulation that these facts are all true.

Hi Mollie, you do realize that this slickly worded tweet hides the fact that Clinton had no idea who was doing her opposition research or how, right? And that it also hides that the FBI-partner MI6 agent ("foreign spy," lol) doing the research didn't know who he was doing it for?
2/ I suppose you also know, @MZHemingway—because you're careful—that Steele wasn't hired to find "dirt," that he used MI6-derived sources, and that he didn't give anything to the media until federal law enforcement began hiding evidence of Trump's treachery from Americans, right?
