Infantilised political class, paid £000s in consultancy fees to parrot economically illiterate rubbish... sicophantic journalists who will suppress bad stories for a trip to the chalet in Verbier...
This is the core of the right wing nationalist elite in Britain - prepared to trade our auto, aerospace and steel industries for a pat on the head from Bannon, Trump and Mr Wetherspoon....
...I hope the Tory Cabinet are keeping verbatim notes of the past 3 weeks: they will be needed when called to account for gross negligence in public office. If we lose our global manufacturing base, they will carry that can for decades.

The excuse "I met some people in a pub and they could not understand something" is not going to wash with Labour members who want their MPs to do very clear things: oppose No Deal, oppose May's deal, and trigger a second referendum if we cannot bring down the government... 1/~
2/ I can see the parliamentary logic of Labour not opposing the Immigration Bill at this stage, but not the moral logic. However the big issue is the @YvetteCooperMP amendment tomorrow. I call on all Labour MPs to support it...
3/ Cooper's amendment is the sure-fire way to take May's No Deal ultimatum off the table and return the government to sanity, given that there is no Commons majority for Labour's amendment.

Brexit: we are in the last stages of denialism for Britain's xenophobic right. 1/ May to "toughen" the deal, eradicating the backstop with a time limit. 2/ Boris Johnson to vote for it after all; 3/ Ditto the DUP... (to nobody's real surprise)...
Let's spell it out for these white nationalist, Neo-imperial fantasists: accepting May's deal makes Britain a permanent rule-taker from Europe. And for anybody in Labour prepared to back it: it is an attack on workers rights... you vote for it, you own it...
People like me have been putting "country before party" on Brexit now since July. I will be cock-a-hoop politically if the Tory right and the DUP defy 61% of Leave voters who want no deal - because good luck mobilising the Tory base after that...

2) European Commission decides today whether or not to delay 2 awaited publications scheduled for Wednesday appearance: paper on future EU-UK relationship and paper on stark EU intentions in case of no deal
3) These 2 papers could be used as carrot/sticks in negotiations but there’s a nervousness in EU circles to get tone right at this delicate coming-to-end-game state of #Brexit proceedings and not to be seen as bullying (remember Salzburg??)

1/ chequers shows there is unlikely to be a deal acceptable to the EU and the europhobes in the tory party #Brexit so its likely that no deal #Brexit is the only available #Brexit and therefore there is unlikely to be a choice of deal or no deal to start with
2/ if May does comeback with a deal it will need labour support to pass Labour would have to choose between backing it thus forgoing any chance of bringing down the government and thus the GE they say they want and angering the labour movement or voting it down

1. At this point Theresa May needs to ignore her #Brexit back benchers. They are not being honest. They will ambush her whatever she does because they will only accept a no deal Brexit at this point. There isn't a mandate for that.
2. The UK needs a solution that addresses the NI issue along with one that protects UK business and that was always going to require a degree of harmonisation. That is the way the world works. Pretending it can be done by other means is dishonest to the core.
3. If Brexiters wanted a different outcome then they should have set out a plan - but they refused to do so - so they can't complain about the destination. Instead they've spent the last two years lying through their teeth, massaging the narrative that we can trade on WTO rules.
