Over the summer, I found that fact-checkers like @snopes & @PolitiFact had debunked YourNewsWire at least 80 times — but it was still openly publishing on Facebook poynter.org/fact-checking/…
Now, since YourNewsWire switched domains, none of the stories that fact-checkers had previously debunked are still flagged on Facebook. That means users can share them freely poynter.org/fact-checking/…
Facebook told me it has started to demote repeat misinformers who operate more than one website. But it's conceivable that even that mechanism could be gamed.
