Top state election officials are meeting this weekend in D.C., with election security on the agenda.

Federal and state officials are meeting right now as part of the EIS GCC.
You could describe this as "the room where it happens" if you were a huge election security federal-state partnership process nerd
Also there is voting equipment here and ES&S describes its voting machine and its ballot scanning device as a "power couple"

Georgia's voting security commission is meeting right now before issuing recommendations for the state's new voting equipment.

But in today's @MorningCybersec, experts told me that the vendor proposals GA has received are full of problems.

The vast majority of public comments at this commission meeting have been passionate pleas for paper-based voting systems.

One county election official argued for electronic voting, but cited only minor logistical problems with paper that can be solved. No mention of security.
Meanwhile, Brian Kemp, who's moving from secretary of state (top election official) to governor, has named the former top lobbyist for giant voting vendor ES&S as his new deputy chief of staff.

But surely that won't affect how the state treats ES&S.

Rosenstein: The charges are for attacks on "managed service providers" that provide IT services to other companies.

It concerns me that the media is acting as if the Secure Elections Act in its latest form is meaningful. Senate R's had already watered it down so much that @verifiedvoting w/drew support. Hearing postponement cld be a tactic 2 force thru a shoddy bill. 1/ politico.com/newsletters/mo…
Postponing the Secure Elections Act hearing is analogous to "walking away from the negotiating table." This can all be theatre, intended to make other senators accept whatever they can get. Don't fall for it. cc: @kamalaharris @SenFeinstein @SenatorLankford 2/
VOTERS ARE THE LEVERAGE HERE. Voters must call the Senate Rules Commitee & demand not only that the hearing be re-scheduled, but also that the bill be strengthened, not accepted in its current state or weakened further. 3/
