1/ Mind-boggling that formerly gay-positive orgs showcase parents who talk about their "trans kids" liking hairstyles, clothes, & play typical of opp sex, when it's been known for decades such gender atypicality may mean their kids would grow up to be gay.
2/ This recent study of nearly 5K young people corroborates this finding.

3/ A reminder is always in order: The LGB movement never, ever sought to identify young children as gay or pre-gay. Yet the trans movement has no problem labeling toddlers as "trans"--toddlers who show a preference for activities/appearance more typical of opposite sex.

The @nytimes is a propaganda rag, no longer deserving the moniker "Paper of Record." Clear their editors feel no responsibility to cover "both sides" (even in Opinion section), or do actual investigative reporting, something they were once famous for. #RIP

They won't even publish Letters to the Editor from clinicians, parents or detransitioners who don't toe the trans-activist party line. (We are aware of people from these 3 groups who recently responded to an article on trans issues--none were published).
Imagine if @nytopinion @nytimes published this response....after hell froze over.

THREAD. Note emphasis on *organizations* throughout.
1/ Those who say we should ally w/ US rightwing *organizations* risk galvanizing the entire Democratic Party establishment against us who are trying to draw attention to the excesses of trans activism & pediatric transition.
2/ As it is, dishonest trans activists have already managed to convince too many that no one on the US political left or center is objecting to the excesses of trans activism and, in particular, its effect on youth.
3/ Allying w/ orgs which fight to eliminate rights for LGB people, universal healthcare, & deny climate change (along w/much more) will only cement the perception that only the rightwing have issues w/ extremist trans activism and the rise in medicalizing gender atypical youth.

In this 6-min segment, Diane Ehrensaft plays the suicide card, says 2 isn't too young to socially transition, & dismisses decades of research evidence that most kids desist and grow up to be gay. At least they had @jackdreschermd on as a voice of reason.

Dr. Drescher touches on detransition, & a study of girls who had a hard time desisting after social transition. Saving face is huge for teens. Ehrensaft's cavalier endorsement of kid transition indicates little concern for either LG youth being wrongly transitioned, or desisters.
Though the study is not referred to by name, pretty sure it's this 2011 paper by Steensma et al. Who will care about and care for the many more detransitioners/desisters who are appearing almost every day, as affirmative care becomes the norm?

Today’s article in The Sunday Times is just the tip of the iceberg in what has become a relentless barrage of unending transphobic, trans-hostile and insidiously undermining articles published over the last 18 months!😕
The Times has systematically and repeatedly painted a picture of trans people as a “lobby” group of dogmatic and threatening “activists” who have some sort of unlimited power to “demand” rights of politicians and policy makers.

The truth is far from this.

I've come to a realization. It took me a really long time to admit this, because for me, politics is so personal…#trans rights, feminism, racism, anti-capitalism. I wanted to believe that the right—in their own way—had authentic values-based reasons for being politically active
The more I interact with Trump supporters, the more I watch video after video of Trump rallies, the more time I spent in Trump forums trying to "figure it out," the more I realize, this is not about ANY political platform or policy at all.

To them, this is entertainment.
They go to rallies to have fun. They create groups to have fun. They exploit our anxiety & fear of being killed or legally "erased" as queer people or dying of poverty because it's FUNNY to them.

@AdamSerwer nailed it when he said, "The cruelty is the point."

They are SADISTIC.

It is *not* a "total reversal" of his beliefs for *all* #Trans ppl. Your selective reading of the page is very telling and is representative of the mentality & intentions common among Trans "activists/allies." Altho this case and perhaps your own perspective are not nearly the1/x
most egregious, they are still problematic. Anyone reading your tweets would likely believe that Hakeem does not believe in psychotherapy for *any* #Trans ppl, which is clearly not the case. It is like those who ignore that @BlanchardPhD & @profjmb are among the strongest 2/x
advocates of #Trans ppl, including supporting their desire for SRS--in adulthood. In short, you/others frame the narrative in such a self-serving and selective/biased/distorted manner. For instance, 1) there is still *no* evidence that being "Trans" is "normal" in any way, 3/x
