Great to find that Corbyn was predictably a lead signatory on a letter to the Guardian describing Moazzam Begg as a "role model" in 2014.

The letter also defended InterPal & the Ummah Trust against "slurs".

The Charity Commission launched an investigation into The Ummah Trust shortly before publication of that letter. I've not yet been able to find the outcome of the investigation. Anyone aware?
InterPal has long fought off allegations that it exists merely as a fund-raising front for Hamas but is off course proscribed by the US government on the basis of it's alleged links to Hamas.
HHUGS was recently described as “an institutionally problematic charity, with extreme and illiberal individuals involved at all levels, from trustees to supporters, speakers and beneficiaries.”

So in just 1 letter we have Corbyn applauding Moazzem Begg and defending 3 charities that at best have caused "concern" over alleged links to terrorist and/or Islamist groups.
No surprises to anybody, obviously.

Sam Vickers @sambfawu is a member of Barnsley East CLP. He was suspended in 2016 but readmitted.

He is Yorkshire Regional Organiser of the Bakers, Food & Allied Workers Union (BAFWU)
Sam came to my attention because i noticed that he had just been trolling Luciana @lucianaberger after she called attention to the case of Prof David Miller.

Sam demanded that Luciana prove evidence of antisemitism in Labour & appeared to defend Prof Millar.
Sam Vickers then made an allegation that @lucianaberger was drawing attention to antisemitism as part of an organised campaign to undermine Labour.

This is very likely antisemitic as it makes mendacious claims about Jews as a collective.

This week Momentum released a video on antisemitism that featured a young Jewish woman who made a number of very problematic comments.
Good analyses have been provided by @daverich1 @DavidHirsh @mishtal and @israel_advocacy
The video represents just another example of the way that the Left highlights and celebrates Jewish voices who represent only a very small minority of British Jews and yet pillories, abuses and condemns those Jewish voices that speak for the vast majority

The mainstreaming and empowering of the fringe, crank and wholly unrepresentative voice of those behind Jewish Voice for Labour and Free Speech on Israel is the most obvious and dangerous element of this current phenomena.

And we can see something very similar in another context

Not a thread - totally a rant:

On the way into work (late) I was unlucky enough to hear @AndrewMarr9 and guests on Start the Week: this week's episode titled "That's not fair"
During a discussion about property & wealth the guests and Marr expressed their outrage.
Marr himself concurred that the state should seize the value of property capital gains as a means of redistribution of wealth.

This is a man who earns over £400k from his job in the public funded BBC.
Plus how ever much else he earns from books, appearances etc.
The median UK salary in 2018 is just over £28.5k

Andrew Marr is a man who earns somewhere between 14-20 times this average salary. And yet we are treated to his "radical" views on wealth redistribution.

The next portion of the discussion was on the "mutiny against injustice".

My company was raided. It should have been a straightforward matter. But the #MetPolice & #LBRUT forgot to seize my computer & came back to do a 2nd raid. The search warrant didn't permit a second entry, however, #LBRUT entered unlawfully

Complaints were then made to my MP #VinceCable. He liaised with the #Metpolice & #LBRUT. And then weeks later, the search warrant was completely changed & was passed off as the search warrant executed on the day of the raids.

I too lived under Section 28. I marched in Thatcher's London streets over it.

I also was arrested in NYC, Philly & DC protests because gay friends were dying & Silence=Death.

The havoc wreaked by anti-gay ordinances like Section 28 ruined lives. And someone explain to @matthewtoomer that the GAY MAN who helped end WWII in the UK, #AlanTuring, killed himself b/c of anti-gay laws, FFS.
And his whole TL is full of equally smug nonsense. It's not legal to be gay or lesbian in 103 countries. There is NO protection against anti-#LGBTQ discrimination in the US.
We were silent for 100s of years and str8 folks did NOT "tolerate us," they jailed, raped and killed us.
