today i learned the university of virginia yearbook is actually just called “blackface”
was looking to see if there were any notable @UVA alums who might want to let the school know how they feel about this but uhhhh... robert mueller, richard spencer, jason kessler, kirstjen nielsen, and a bunch of sports guys i don’t recognize aren’t gonna be much help.
coy barefoot was instrumental in reviving the yearbook with the racist name. he’s also the executive director of the albemarle charlottesville historical society, an entity that refuses to disclose information about the klan robes they display.

in related news: tonight's city council meeting will include a public hearing on the vote to extend the historical society's lease another 5 years. the city is losing over $100,000 PER YEAR renting that building to the historical society for $750/mo.
