I'm old enough to remember when Republicans pretended to throw outrageous fits when they claimed the President exceeded his Constitutional powers.

By the way, I'm old enough to remember those time when causal racism was supposedly "commonplace." Fuck that excuse. We knew it was wrong. Racism is unforgivable bigotry and always was. Anyone who says different is trying to exorcise the demons who own their soul.
People raised in a racist society may use social custom to excuse their own cruelty. That doesn't matter. They know they're being cruel. They're rationalizing it. They're also cowards who don't want to face the consequences of being human and so not acting racist.
