I don't remember if I said this yet, but srsly.

It's a lot easier to attribute access to an actor once they've done something that you notice... so tell me, how do we know that China has access to natural gas distribution infrastructure again?
Remember the Massachusetts explosions that happened just as Hurricane Florence was bearing down on the east coast?

A criminal investigation was launched Nov 1, last year.

It always rubbed me the wrong way that WSI Corporation in Andover, Mass (now Weather Company) was evacuated due to the threat from the explosions on a night with an incoming hurricane - they provide data, analysis + support to NOAA/NHC, if I recall correctly...
and it had some impact as discussed by at least one meteorologist that night - though as an aside. ( Don't remember his name, but I @'ed him at the time.)
In any case, I just checked - in the 2018 DNI Threat Assessment, there was no mention of threats to natural gas infrastructure from China or anyone else.

So something must have blown up in the past year that would cause the DNI to call out that threat... could be adept and alert advance monitoring of network traffic, but... yeah. Prolly not.

We all know corporations and utilities don't find foresight profitable.
Note: just found this, attributing the explosions to disconnecting distribution mains from the line that had the sensors, and there were no secondary safety regulators at homes???

oddly I didn't find any articles in MSM discussing it until just now. 🤔
