I am watching a Bristish gardening show and it is way more charming than the baking show and also maybe I am secretly Bristish.
Why are the British so into crazy gardens and pastries and hats?
One way that the British are better is they evidently can easily enlist their neighbors to do heavy labor. I would totally do that! More barn raising-type endeavors in the US, please.
And I guess it’s not uncommon to be digging out some ponds and beds and find an old site raid shelter?
Now I want a rockery
Can somebody explain to me why British people want "privacy" from one part of a small garden to another? Like, obsessively?
Ok, where can one source non tacky garden sculpture/art in Bay Area? I’ve always done well at Salvage yards but I may have to actually buy something for real
Or course it helps if you have a carpenter and a brick layer in the family and neighbors willing to pull on Wellies and get to work.
Somebody who is British needs to explain the relative fame and spot in the nation’s Celstial Heavens of Monty Don.
Middle aged women are swooning over him; young men aspire to be him. Idk I would like to live in a world where a gardener is like a Kardashian
Nobody’s politics on this show is ever discussed or even telegraphed (to a US eye) but in this sweet desire to maintain a garden/allotment to the old standards I begin to see another side of some average Leavers. (Still think it is disastrous, but)
Omg “mud heads.” The British are so...British.
