The funny thing is that, legally speaking, it is actually really easy for Parliament to legislate to prevent a No Deal Brexit

It could pass a law requiring the Prime Minister to revoke the Article 50 notification on March 28 if the Withdrawal Agreement hasn't been ratified

@SpinningHugo has even produced a very short, very clear and very effective draft of what the legislation might look like

This would, to say the least, be politically controversial.

But it is perfectly feasible, as a matter of law.

It follows from the @andywightman @JolyonMaugham case on revoking Article 50 unilaterally.

The UK could certainly safely revoke if Parliament legislated for it

3/
Changing the default as @SpinningHugo proposes would remove the March 29 cliff edge, prevent the Prime Minister from forcing her unpopular Withdrawal Agreement through and also ensure that the constitutionally significant Withdrawal Agreement Bill is not rushed into force

4/
So the next time you hear a politician, journalist or colleague -- anyone, really! -- say Parliament cannot rule out a No Deal Brexit, you can tell them, politely but firmly, that Parliament most certainly can.

Politically unpopular, maybe; legally possible, definitely.
