Catching up on politics ... oh, Christopher Chope - objecting to FGM bill, consistently voting against same sex marriage, gay rights, human rights, welfare benefits and blocking the upskirting bill - where, oh where, did they dig this fossil up from? theguardian.com/society/2019/f…
I understand that the Gov has a precariously weak voting position but sometimes, you just have to say on the grounds of decency that we cannot tolerate certain behaviour. They really should remove the whip from Chope. He certainly makes a mockery of one nation Tory ideals.
Just having a look at his voting record - theyworkforyou.com/mp/10103/chris… - oh, it's pretty disgraceful. How on earth does anyone justify voting for this person? Oh, it's Christchurch - home of the waiting for death, tax dodging leeches with big houses, 4x4s and sailing clubs. No wonder.
If you don't know Christchurch, it's notorious for lavish spending on castles, regattas and bowling clubs whilst cutting back on social housing and temporary accommodation. Home to a decrepit but wealthy population that still believe in the Empire. Little England personified.
So, I'm afraid that relics like Christopher Chope will unfortunately be a feature of parliament for sometime ... unless there's an outbreak of vapourised garlic, a worldwide shortage in factor 100 total UV blocker or a mass invasion of werewolves in Christchurch.
