#Cubs Prospect Thread: OF Cole Roederer

Not a big guy, Roederer rose to early round draft consideration this season despite battling injury by reworking his swing to translate his considerable bat speed into in-game power. He now regularly draws comparisons to Andrew Benintendi.
Usually when the term five-tool player is attached to a prospect at least one of those tools tend to outshine the others. In the case of Cole Roederer that may not be the case as most who have seen him attach 50-55 grades across the board.
Roederer became an immediate star in the AZL after signing. He showed off not just power but plate discipline as well. He used his above average speed to steal bases and cover ground in CF. He was among the best prep players to debut in 2018.
His arm is considered only average, and while he shows the range for CF, some scouts report his best position likely ends up being LF. The bat should carry him though and he chould remain viable across all outfield positions moving forward.
