White men leaders claiming it's "a pipeline problem" rather than things they control i.e. existing bias, sponsorship, promotion and advancement. Who would have thought that? Oh wait, everyone with more than 2 brain cells who has spent seconds looking into it. This is spot on ->
For me, "it's a pipeline problem" is up there with climate deniers and creationists. A "special" type of person but not in a good way. I find it difficult to take such people seriously on any matter, it becomes a real struggle for me. These concepts are shibboleths in my view.
... they are all connected though. they are concepts which hold fast to an absolute belief or particular perspective despite either evidence against it or no supporting evidence for. I do find it becomes difficult for me to engage with or trust people who hold such ideas.
