NEW: Labour's handling of racism complaints is once again under fire after it emerged a member's claims that "the Jewish community plans to attack our party" and that an "undemocratic elite" was attempting to undermine Corbyn, were not deemed by an official to be antisemitic.
The comments were made by Sir Duncan Michael, one of the UK's most eminent structural engineers, during a Wimbledon CLP meeting last August in which the IHRA definition of antisemitism was discussed. Sky News has obtained a leaked audio recording of the meeting.
During the meeting Sir Duncan was confronted by Glyn Secker from Jewish Voice for Labour, who said he wanted to put him right. Sir Duncan responded by saying "you won't put me right"
Secker then says: "If you are insistent that all jews in the country are responsible for attacking Jeremy Corbyn, then I would say yes, you are antisemitic"
Numerous complaints were submitted after the meeting. In October complainants got this from the London regional office: "after taking this case through our antisemitism process, the Labour party does not believe this is an incident of antisemitism and will not be taken further"
