MISSING (a thread)
At a public cemetery up north, there exists a place for dead bodies that have no identities.
On their graves they are marked “missing” — the cemetery caretaker says they are bodies retrieved from crime scenes. He says they were killed by police or vigilantes, brought here by funeral parlours because no family came to retrieve them.
At a time when thousands have been killed, thousands more have went missing — many taken from poor communities never to be seen again.
They went “missing” because, at some point, their executioners decided that their lives are not worth anything. Society has forgotten their stories. The only ones that remember are their loved ones who continue to search for them.
Buried in this cemetery are many stories waiting to be told.
