Mining behavioral data to automatically devise ad targeting vectors without adequately rigorous human supervision for ethics is essential Zuckerberg/Sandberg business acumen.

A crucial tension is a dire necessity to inhibit the data economy to protect human rights vs. the Trump administration’s effort to accelerate unfettered development of AI to race against China, a state that readily deploys it for social control.
Apparently and unsurprisingly, autonomous vehicles are racist beasts. Without fundamental human rights enshrined as defensible civil rights, humanity stands on a precipice of losing its dignity and actual autonomy to surveillance capitalism & technocracy.

June: Chancellor requests his Cambridge U logs to be scrubbed

Dec: Harry Davies from The Guardian asks SCL about commercial relationship with GSR to acquire its database.
Sep 2015: Chancellor leaves GSR.

Nov 9: Facebook hires Chancellor.

Dec 9: Guardian’s Harry Davies contacts FB UK for comment on his pending report. Davies escalated to FB HQ.

Dec 11: Guardian’s Harry Davies breaks data harvesting scandal on Cruz Campaign. FB contacts SCL.
Despite specific questions about Chancellor by UK Parliament and US Congress probes, Facebook refuses to explain details about his hire and why he was dismissed per internal investigation. It remains suspicious to this day, moreso after @podehaye’s FOI on his CU log scrubbing.

IAB’s Grimaldi won’t mention how news business is abandoning digital advertising wholesale for rev. Won’t mention research that shows plurality say targeted ads are unethical and the more consumers learn about how behavioral ads work, the more they hate it. #FederalPrivacyBill

Here’s a little lesson in business registration for my US and Jamaican followers:

Most US companies are gusteres in Delaware because it has the most favourable laws for businesses AND “has a separate Court of Chancery to hear cases involving corporate law”

No corp taxes either

Jamaica is nothing like the USA.

I can register in a different state and do business across each state with certain registrations and/or licenses. The USA is a union of individual states.
Most entrepreneurs setup an S Corp or an LLC in their home state, mine is Florida (no personal income taxes so a pass-through entity is preferred and we have Homestead Exemption too).

But that is just at the startup phase to keep over head low.

An “establishment” of a non-EU entity in the EU doesn't require a registered branch/subsidiary. Any stable arrangements will be taken into account 4 data protection law purposes.But merely the fact that the company’s website is accessible from the EU is not an "establishment"2/14
A processor in the EU is not deemed to be an “establishment” of the non-EU controller in the EU. The existence of the controller-processor relationship does not trigger the application of the #GDPR to the non-EU controller 3/14

UCC had opportunity to comment on the #Data.Protection & Privacy Bill. The enactment of this law is long overdue. A comprehensive law on the collection & processing personal information gives effect to the right to Privacy envisaged under Article 27(2) of the Constitution
UCC welcome the protections offered by the Bill in terms of export of data, breach notification requirements, data subjects access rights, automated decision making, compensation and the right to be forgotten and provision for financial and penal sanctions for breach of the law.
Distinction between Data collectors & data controllers.
The Bill should however clarify & distinguish Data Collectors, from Data Processors & Data Controllers. Clause 2 is inconsistent with international good practice which provides for two broad categories of Data Controllers

I am by no means a Britney stan, in that I don’t have an encyclopedic knowledge of her work nor have I seen her perform live. HOWEVER, as a person whose entire adolescent soundtrack included Britney’s hits as they happened in real time, this take is hot festering trash.
First of all, Britney Spears is a world class dancer. Her choreography from her 2002-2004 shows/videos ALONE would leave Taylor Swift collapsed on the floor in rehearsal sobbing and suing everyone in the room.
