A History of Jose Mourinho scandals. The Special One. The elite rustler. Enemy of Football.

A THREAD

RTs appreciated.
Let's start at the beginning. When Jose was at Porto in 2004 and he beat United in the Champions League. He ran across the field in jubilation. Much to the annoyance of United fans and staff.
Jose the newly appointed Manager of Chelsea made his infamous quote:
"Please don't call me arrogant beacuse what i say is true. I'm European Champion, I'm not one of the bottle, I think I'm a special one."
In 2005, now Jose the Manager of Chelsea put his finger to his mouth in a 'shush' gesture after equalising against Liverpool due to a Steven Gerrard own goal.
Later in that season Jose accused Barcalona coach Frank Rijkaard of influencing referee Anders Frisk. The referee later retired due to threats. Volker Rioth, the head of the referee committee branded Mourinhio as 'an enemy of football'. Jose was fined £8900 and had a 2 match ban.
This fine didn't stop Jose as a month later he called United players cheats. He was fined £5000.
"In the second half it was whistle and whistle, fault and fault and fault. Cheat and cheat."
Due to the 2 match ban. It was alleged that Jose hid in a laundry basket so he could talk to his players before their match against Bayern Munich. Jose later confirmed this to be true while doing punditry for bein sports in 2019.
This was the year that Jose called Wenger a Voyeur. He claimed that Wenger was obsessed with Chelsea "He speaks, speaks, speaks about Chelsea"
Jose was also fined for tapping up Ashley Cole while the England star was out of contract. Jose got a £75,000 but Ashley Cole did sign for Jose and Chelsea later on.
After winning the League in 2006, Jose threw his medal into the crowd. Upon realising this officials gave him a second which he proceeded to throw into the crowd. He later justified this by saying "The medal was for everybody"
Jose later left Chelsea for Inter. But fortunately the scandals didn't stop. Mourinho received a one match ban in his first season for abusing a referee while playing Cagliari.
In his second season with Inter, in 2010, Jose was fined €40,000 after 2 of his players were sent off. He also recieved a 3 match touchline ban. They drew with Sampdiora. Jose made a gesture with his arms inferring that the officials were all against his team.
Jose's best scandal with Inter was without a doubt his infamous run onto Camp Nou after his 10 men team beat Barcalona over 2 legs in the Semi-final. They later went on to win the CL. Completing a treble. The 'translator' triumphed over the 'prodigy'.
But all was not well for Jose in Italy. Due to Jose feeling he was being targeted by officials he stopped doing press conferences for 3 months stating "I am very happy with Inter but not with Italian football." Jose wanted to leave. He was Real Madrid bound.
The scandals didn't stop at Real. They had just begun. His first was a 2 match ban after he won against Real Murcia 5-1 in the Copa del Rey.
One month later he received another ban for two games after telling players to get booked against Ajax.
Mourinho in April 2011, went on a tirade after losing to Barcalona 2-0 saying that teams have 'no chance' against Barcalona. Implying the officials were corrupt. He was handed a 5 match ban. Later reduced on appeal.
He said about Guardiola later that one day he'd love to see him win this competition 'scandal free'
Then in August, 2011. Came one of Jose's most famous El Classico scandals as he poked assistant referee Tito Vilanova in the eye following a bust up. He received a 2 match ban.
In May, 2013 Jose received a 2 game ban after his behaviour in the Copa Del Rey when Real Madrid lost the final to Atletico.
Jose would later return to the Premier League to his old club Chelsea. It was also filled with scandals. His first was in October 2013 where he was sent to the stands by Anthony Taylor during a 4-1 win over Cardiff. He was fined £8,000.
March, 2014 sent to the stands during the Aston villa game where he lost 1-0. He was later fined £8,000 for improper conduct.
April, 2014 after he sarcastically praised Mike Dean for ending his 77 game home unbeaten run against Sunderland. He was fined £10,000.
December, 2014, fined £25,000 After he claimed there was a 'clear campaign' against Fabregas after he was denied a Penalty against Southampton and was booked for a yellow. They drew 1-1.
August, 2015. Mourinho calls Eva Carniero 'daughter of a whore' after she goes onto the pitch with his permission. She was dismissed and Jose had to attend a tribunal.
October, 2015, the infamous touchline clash with Wenger after Chelsea won 2-0. He'd later call Wenger a 'specialist in failure'
October, 2015, given a £50,000 fine after he said officials were 'scared' to give Chelsea penalties in his post match press conference.
October, 2015, after Matic was sent off he made his way to the referee dressing room and said to Jonathon Moss: "Wenger was right, you are fucking soft." He was fined £40,000.
His last scandal was his last match with Chelsea. After he said he felt his work was 'betrayed' by his players.
If the FA thought they were safe... They were very wrong. As Jose took the Old Trafford Job and scandals followed. 27, Oct 2016. One of his first was a £50,000 fine after he said to Adrew Taylor wouldn't be able to have a 'good performance.' After United draw to Liverpool 0-0.
Just 2 days later October, 29 2016, he was sent to the stands and fined £8,000 with a one match ban. In a draw with Burnley.
November, 2016. Jose was sent to the stands after he kicked a water bottle into the crowd in a reaction to Pogba getting booked against West Ham.
It was also in this season where he called Conte out for Match fixing after Conte said Jose has dementia.
"One thing that has never happened to me, and will never happen is to be suspended for Match fixing."
He also went on a tirade after his team went crashing out of the Champions League to Sevilla in March, 2018. He mentioned United's record the the competition and their 'Futbol heritage'
After a Felleni winner against Young Boys in November 2018. Jose celebrated in extraordinary fashion by smashing the water bottles.
His last gift to United was a 2-1 win against Juventus in their backyard on the 7th of November 2018. After suffering abuse for 90 mins Jose retaliated in true Mourinho fashion. Rattling the Juventus fanbase.
I have no doubt that Jose will be back providing the Footballing world more scandals. Until then we wait in anticipation. We move.
