So, what were @realDonaldTrump & @carterwpage trying to tell us with these tweets about the Trump Tower Starbucks. #Spygate #FISAAbuse Let's consider the scope of this potential surveillance tool, the Starbucks Wifi! 
This Starbucks is located in the lobby of the Trump Tower, and Carter Page's tweet indicates he frequented this location, as his office was across the street & connected by a walkway to the tower.
It is located beside the escalators that provide access to the retail locations within the building. Which may be very important. This appears to be a very high traffic area. Looks like it is located directly inside the public entrance & 1 floor above. 2nd pic is from Starbucks!
Why is this important? Well a FISA warrant was approved to intercept Page's communications & identify individuals within his circle of communications. This is often referred to as Two Hops, people & entities Carter communicated with & metadata on the people they communicate with
So Carter Page using the WiFi at Starbucks Trump Tower, would make that router one of the 1st Hops on his surveillance. Visitors even rate the free WiFi at the Starbucks to be a highlight of a visit to Trump Tower. It is also free Google WiFi they are providing...
So obviously you have probably figured out that anyone sitting down at Starbucks & logging onto their Wifi would now be covered under the 2nd Hop of Carter Page's FISA. Now that should not allow access to the content of their communications, but the metadata, that would ID them.
However the issue is far more widespread than that. Unless you phone has WiFi turned off, your phone & the router will connect & identify each other. Even if your phone is set to not connect to strange WiFi without asking, they will still communicate to determine what wifi it is.
Which means that almost every phone walking through the lobby of Trump Tower would contact the wifi router to identify it & identify itself to the router. Which puts every phone carried within range of Starbucks router, within 2 Hops of Carter Page & subject to collection.
This would serve as a great database to identify everyone who walked into the building, when they arrived, when they left, & much more information that can be data mined using the FISA for 'incidental collection'. Feeling like you have privacy now?
If you have your phone set to automatically connect to available WiFi, or have it set to connect to Starbucks WiFi (at any location) you phone would connect to it & share far more information. You phone might download emails through that connection, without you realizing it.
Starbucks also used a Google WiFi at that location. So if your phone or apps are set to interact with Google, it might also connect or download data that you are unaware of. Google has has several issues with efforts to spy on routers, not just their own. wired.com/2012/05/google…
The FBI also used two covert hacking divisions within the agency to gather intelligence by using tools developed to find data provided by Google, Facebook, & other service providers. forbes.com/sites/thomasbr…
So the revelation that @carterwpage was using the Trump Tower Starbucks WiFi indicates that almost everyone who entered the Trump Tower had their wires tapped, at least to some degree. Which should worry most people & provide some clues as to what the FISA was secured to achieve.
One question I don't know is how the internet service is provided for the entire Trump Tower building. Did the Starbucks internet share infrastructure with other internet access within the building? Was there a common trunk line that many or all of the entities shared?
Could someone claim to be gaining access to the Starbucks WiFi (under FISA) by tapping into the internet cables for the entire building? I don't know, but that might certainly be an explanation for the claim that Obama tapped the wires of the Trump Tower.
