Government has had legal advice that A50 could be extended beyond the EP elections up until just before the first meeting of the EP in early July, without having to take part in the elections in May.
I didn’t hear the PM say what would happen if Parliament voted against No Deal and then also voted against A50 extension the next day...
Industry now has to plan for a double cliff edge. Eg car plants that are shutting down for period of a week to a month in April, possibly pointlessly, because they were told by Govt to prepare for No Deal next month. Now have to do it again potentially in July.
Will the Government now stop the deployment of Operation Brock - ie shutting half of 13 mile stretch of M20 for a lorry park?
