... Number 10, and PM failed from the beginning to even make the case that a compromise was required, which is clearly their belief now. They can’t make case that this deal saves manufacturing, because they have never rolled the pitch for the idea that there is anything to lose.
... from my conversations this lack of willingness or perhaps capacity to properly sell the deal, and even to take risks to sell deal, has led to mistrust on other side - that there has been a lack of ownership of the clear domestic consequences of this international negotiation.
