Time Travel Type 1) One Way Ticket To Tomorrow

Often the effects of relativistic speeds or hibernation, a person finds themselves in their future. Rip Van Winkle, Khan, and most famously, Buck Rogers in the XXVth Century
Time Travel Type 2) Land That Time Forgot

Finding a land where dinosaurs still roam - Pellucidar and Skartaris, Valley of the Dinosaurs, The War that Time Forgot, The Lost World, and the adventures of Turok, Son of Stone
Time Travel Type 3) Specific Location is a Temporal Slip Zone

A place where, at least once in awhile, time gets slippery. The Bermuda Triangle, The palace of Versailles, the standing stones of Craigh na Dun in Outlander, the Cave of Time in the first CYOA book
Time Travel Type 4) Magic

Science is for Losers! Time travel by Magic - maybe by an artifact like a Time Turner, or The Well of Souls, or some self styled "Chronomancer". Chances are high things will go wrong, but odds are for losers too
Time Travel Type 5) Hi Tech Crap Shoot

Intentional time travel, but experimental or in desperation. Maybe its a Big Government funded Manhattan Project, or a lone survivor trying to undo The Great Disaster - but they're messing with what they don't understand
Time Travel Type 6) Time Loops

The method varies (or is unknown) but someone finds themselves repeating an amount of time. Its Christmas Every Day, or Happy Death Day, or Groundhog Day, or any Ouroboros eating its own temporal tail tale
Time Travel Type 7) Unintentional Side Effect

A supercollider causes a time jump. A experimental FTL ship slips backward or forward in time. The shockwave of an exploding planet impacts a malfunctioning space ship. Time travel was not the goal, and may not be repeatable
Time Travel Type 8) Thought Power

"Our thoughts form the universe, they always matter" - G'Kar, Babylon 5.

By the power of will, focused solely on that objective, to travel through time. Like the Monkey's Paw though, its probably going to end poorly
Time Travel Type 9) Time Tethers

Something is so strongly connected to a point in time its stuck there. Maybe a life preserver from the Titanic sends you back to 1912, or a room in a hospital is always 1954, or a hotel in Colorado slowly brings you to 1921
Time Travel Type 10) Mastery of Time Travel Tech

The technology exists for reliable, almost mundane, time travel (with a few caveats), however, it can be used by anyone - no license or know-how needed. Doctors of Time, Masters of Time, or Thieves of Time

Expect Chaos
Time Travel Type 11) Alternate Dimension

Its just the illusion of time travel. You travel to a parallel dimension - you may totally believe you are in the past - , but anything you change there doesn't impact the timeline, just that worlds future
Time Travel Type 12) Illegal Technology

Time travel technology exists, but its highly restricted or illegal. Some Time Bureau harshly stamps out any attempt to kill Hitler. This also applies if "Hand of Fate" always makes any time travel totally pointless
Time Travel Type 13) Window into Time

You can view some events in time. A crystal ball, a magic mirror, prophecies in a dream, or Spock using his tricorder in City on the Edge of Forever. Its hit or miss on what you see, and only snippets at best
Time Travel Type 14) Look but Don't Touch

You can travel through time, but only as a phantom or ghost. You might have more or less control, but you can see it just like you were there. Think of Scrooge's travels through his lifetime. Very useful, but so long privacy
Time Travel Type 15) One Way Ticket to Yesteryear

Star Trek's "Atavachron" (from atavistic) sends people permanently nto the past. The timeline is also locked down - so possibly its tossing people into discontinuous pocket timelines.
Time Travel Type 16) Owl Creek Bridge Mind Tricks

The time travel is an illusion where subjective time and 'real' time pass at wildly different rates. A dying man's fantasy is the standard, but Captain Picard lived a lifetime in a few minutes and learned to play the flute
Time Travel Type 17) Abandoned Alien Tech

Time travel was invented, but something happened and the machines were abandoned. Maybe they still mostly work like the Guardian of Forever, or maybe they are 3rd rate misfiring crap like Land of the Lost pylons
Time Travel Type 18) Hi Tech Simultaneous Timelines

You can time travel, but it creates branching timelines that co-exist. Do it often enough, and they're be a legion of different versions of yourself. The Council of Kangs is an example
Time Travel Type 19) Hi Tech. One Timeline Only

Its Bill and Ted, or 12 Monkeys - no matter how many time jumps, in the end all loose ends have to be tied up. Cause and effect will still be in force (in the future, you'll do it in the past)
Time Travel Type 20) Traveling Time Warp

Its a time storm! Its a rolling frolicking mix-upped swirl of back-thens and yet-to-comes. Maybe its the reason that Lost Valley of Dinosaurs exists, explains the Flying Dutchman or Elvis sightings!
Time Travel Type 21) Super Powers

For some, traveling through time is their superpower, or their showing off power. Moving through time is just part of their skills, although a cosmic treadmill helps

Is it magic? Comic book Science? Or maybe just a con job?
Time Travel Type 22) Fakery

There is no time travel, but we can make quite a masquerade. Maybe the 'travelers' are in on it, such as a theme park, or maybe they are being taken - like in the Matrix or a '36 Hours' scheme to get information
