Has any generation--in history--been more swiftly and completely rendered obsolete by massive social and technological change than mine? We're still going to be alive for a while, one hopes, but what do we do with the rest of it?
That's a serious question, not a self-pitying one. I'll be fine. I'm thinking about other Americans of roughly my age.
