1/ This will be a long thread, but necessary, so as 2 counter some of the right wing & white nationalist propaganda concerning crime in America: specifically crime by black folks, and especially crime by black people against white people, both of which they claim are “epidemics.”
2/ These claims have been around a long time, and those who make them often marshal data to support their arguments. While the data is mostly accurate (at least in its raw presentation), the interpretation and understanding of the data is fatally flawed...
3/ I have written long form rebuttals to this stuff before, but since lots of folks have grown accustomed to twitter-debates and won’t read long form pieces (or merely would like to have easily re-tweetable material here), here goes…

1/ Conservatives think the mere existence of POC on their side proves arguments of those POC correct re: race. But by that standard, which doesn't assess the quality of their arguments, my existence as a white man challenging whiteness means I'm automatically right? Of course not
2/ Arguments have to be assessed for their content. Diamond and Silk entertain white reactionaries (who laugh at them behind their backs), but they (and Candace) do not validate rightist positions just bc they're breaking with their group. Bc I'm "breaking with mine" too...
3/ That doesn't mean anything as 2 the veracity of the arguments. If anything, holding up black reactionaries (rejected by 9/10 of black folks) as the correct thinking ones is racist bc it presumes nearly all black folk are stupid or crazy (but Diamond & Silk figured it out!)...

1/ It's hilarious when white folks respond to discussions about reparations or even affirmative action with things like "I never owned a slave & you (black person) never were one," or something similar, and say, "we should just treat everyone the same." Ok, thought experiment...
2/ Imagine that a few hundred years ago two men started playing cards every Friday night. One man was white, the other black. And imagine that the white man cheated the black man consistently: applied rules differently, dealt off the bottom of the deck, hid cards, etc...
3/ But imagine that the black player couldn't quit the game. He had to keep playing, even though he was getting cheated. And when these two men died, they handed the game off to their kids, and the process repeated: white guy cheats the black guy over and over again...

Twitter has a whole cottage industry of online activists who do things like this. They usually make no effort to verify the accusations: "The trend of white people calling the cops on black people is sadly continuing. Twitter, do your thing & identify this woman."

It's already #4thofJuly2018 here in #NewZealand and the #antifa uprising has started. A bunch of them came to my house to take my guns. When I didn't have any they got mad. They took away my wife and made me gay marry an immigrant gang instead. Don't ignore the warnings.
In the street #antifa mobs are pouring biodiesel on piles of flags and using them to like giant scented-oil burners but with drums full of estrogen. I never knew people had so many flags. I guess they were keeping them in hiding. #4thofJuly2018
