The Labour leadership have allowed a culture of antisemitism, obfuscation and denial to take hold of the Party. Our National Secretary @_petermason sets out why @tom_watson is right to get involved
A year after the #Dayenu #EnoughIsEnough protests in Parliament Square, the Party have failed to meet the six tests set out by @BoardofDeputies @JLC_uk & @CST_UK and the 19 by us.
We will not allow our members to face hostility, intimidation and bullying from others, in meetings and online.

We will not allow the Party to play down and cover up the extent of the problem.
On Wednesday, Jewish Labour members will gather in Manchester and London to talk about what we do next.

We helped build the Labour Party 99 years ago. The Party stood side by side with the Jewish community.

Where is that solidarity now?

Thread & correction: After a week of pain and hurt, in which Jewish Labour Party members have either resigned from the Party or have seriously considered their positions, we are deeply disappointed to have heard nothing from the Labour Party Leadership until this evening. /1
At 6:02pm, two minutes after the meeting of the Parliamentary Labour Party began, a meeting in which the Leader claimed to have reached out to the Jewish Labour Movement, an email was received in the personal account of one of our officers. /2
It set out the Leader’s desire for JLM to remain affiliated to the Labour Party.

We find the attempt to mislead both JLM and the PLP deeply troubling. /3

Last Friday, JLM, @UKLabour’s Jewish affiliate since 1920, asked every candidate for the NEC their views on the IHRA definition of antisemitism. We do not endorse any slate & our measures against @PeterWillsman were due to the extraordinary nature of his attack on British Jewry
@UKLabour @PeterWillsman Allowing Jews to define their own prejudice is a matter of principle. We advocate a vote for any candidate who takes this principled anti-racist stand & supports Labour immediately adopting the full & unamended IHRA definition of antisemitism in full, including all the examples.

I served my country. I saw the horrors war and I was scarred. I saw hate and fear in equal measure. I find it harder since my service to maintain my anger. I react inappropriately at times to the mildest of criticism. I have sought counselling but keep reliving the past.
I never judged someone by their religion, ethnicity, colour or gender. When someone was dying, injured or in distress I reached out to help. It was what I had signed up for it was what I trained for. I thought it would make a difference.
It did make a difference. It changed me it left me damaged because I could not being the suffering to an end. Today the UK feels like the War Zone I left behind. Division, distrust and hate seep from every sinew of our society.

This all started because the #MetPolice & #LBRUT couldn't do their day jobs properly & decided to take the law into their own hands. It started as a small cover up 12 years ago but has turned into British State Persecution.

My company was raided. It should have been a straightforward matter. But the #MetPolice & #LBRUT forgot to seize my computer & came back to do a 2nd raid. The search warrant didn't permit a second entry, however, #LBRUT entered unlawfully

Complaints were then made to my MP #VinceCable. He liaised with the #Metpolice & #LBRUT. And then weeks later, the search warrant was completely changed & was passed off as the search warrant executed on the day of the raids.

THREAD: I think we need to talk about the lefts stance on Party rebirth, & the holier than thou attitude that #Labour has on #libdems & tuition Fees. Given the rise of the far right & how much we actually agree on we really should be working together, so lets try to clear this up
For many of us @LibDems, we left @UKLabour when they voted & took us into Iraq.
Now the Labour left make the argument that Labour is not the same party that it was with Blair, & because Corbyn voted against Iraq; all must be forgiven. The party should be allowed to start afresh.
Fair enough. But if this was the case, why was Tim Farron nailed to the tuition fees cross by Labour campaigners at the last election? He voted AGAINST Fees in the same way Corbyn voted against Iraq.

Lots of articles, some useful podcasts from some of the pro-Corbyn commentariat on left antisemitism but three words noticeably absent from the debate. Jewish. Labour. Movement.

Also, the role new-left media has played in fostering an antisemitic culture has been overlooked 2/
Opposing left wing antisemitism means challenging parts of new-left media where anti-Jewish bias is prevalent. There's just no way round this. Some specific examples: The Canary's been on a mission to normalise the Nazi metaphor with Israel. (Really helpful guys, thanks)

The noises coming out of #Labour on racism towards Jews (let us call it that) are increasingly hollow.
Let's not even talk about the 1000s of oddballs in & around Labour, who rant on about "Zionists", etc like UKIPers talk about "immigrants", but we know where both are pointing.

One is profiled here in detailed (& mostly ignored by Labour "radicals")

1. Worst national leadership in my lifetime forcing through the most damaging, misguided & missold policy I can remember. Ideology & vested self interest replace statesmanship, soundbites replace sound judgement & autocracy subverts democracy.

2. A flawed Leave campaign based on lies, deceit, disingenuity & over simplification & a #Remain one fought w/o any positivity from the Govt & no real commitment from Labour, whose leader was virtually AWOL, did no justice to #Brexit complexity & betrayed our democratic process.
3. A mere 37% of voters/26.5% of the Ppl voted leave in a legally Non-Binding test of public opinion which has been corrupted, on the basis of an illegitimate political promise & interpreted as being the irrefutable Will of the Ppl.
The 1st is insufficient to claim the latter!
