Well, it's the anniversary of the #Skripals poisoning, or, as some people would see it, the day that several GRU agents completely randomly descended upon the town of Salisbury to admire a famous spire.

We've just published a piece on how we identified the Skripal "third man" as GRU officer Denis Sergeev. A thread on how we came to this conclusion:

The first step was the terrific work of @fontanka_news, who were the first to identify "Sergey Fedotov" as the Skripal third man. We reviewed the same materials they had with the 2 March 2018 flight records surrounding "Sergey Fedotov" from Moscow to London.
@fontanka_news The passport number of "Fedotov" was just a couple of digits off from those of Skripal suspects "Boshirov" and "Petrov", showing that he got his cover identity at the same time from the GRU.

This story starts from an FBI report that detailed how members of the U.S. neo-Nazi group Rise Above Movement (RAM), based in California, had contacts in Ukraine. RAM members were charged in the U.S. for violence in Charlottesville during the Unite the Right rally there.
Olena Semenyaka, mentioned in this FBI report, is a central figure in this investigation. She works with Azov as their "International Secretary of the National Corps". She's well-known in European neo-Nazi circles, and will be speaking at a far-right conference in Finland.

None of the photos Bellingcat produced were the photos of Chepiga.
All 3 - are the photocopies from the documents that were needed to apply for a 5 year foreign passport and they we all photos of Boshirov. But the plot is much more sophisticated than we imagined.
2. These documents Boshirov brought to one of "we will get you a foreign passport in a few days" private firms - to replace Boshirov's (close to the expiration date) old foreign passport.
3. 30-40 sets copies of people's documents (those who applied for a foreign passport through that firm) were stolen by a criminal in 2016. That's why the passports Bellingcat is forging have the same series and consecutive numbers- they were stolen at the same time & place.
