1. She was in custody. You can’t consent when you’re in police custody

It’s a disgrace that this hasn’t always been the case:

Wherever rape is being investigated or put on trial, I always think of feminist psychiatrist Judith Herman:

“The legal system is designed to protect men from the superior power of the state but not to protect women or children from the superior power of men.”
