When @A_Salkida reported the leadership change in #ISWAP on March 4th, albeit the skepticism attributed to the report, I was CERTAIN the report was TRUE because of Salkida's antecedents. #ISWAP has released the audio in Hausa from their encrypted channel. Here is the translation

"I am announcing to my mujahideen brothers, commanders, and leaders in the Islamic State West African Province that the commander of the believers has deposed Abū Musʿab al-Barnāwī as the Governor.

in the consultative council and give their hearing and obedience to the new Governor. We are praying to God to help and guide him. In the end, I am reminding all my brothers that the deposition&replacement of a Governor in the caliphate is not a new phenomenon that started today
This is what previous Caliphs initiated with their chosen representatives in different places in fact since the time of the Prophet of Allah and those that followed him. Without any surprise, this change of leadership was mostly initiated during the reign of the Caliph ʿUmar
ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭtāb deposed and replaced great companions of the prophet such as Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqās and Khālid ibn al-Walīd. Indeed, at the time he deposed Khālid ibn al-Walīd, he was stern on him just as Ibn Kathīr narrated. He said at the time that ʿUmar became the Caliph
