1) Former CIA Contractor Nellie Ohr Provided Husband at DOJ With Russia Research

Testimony reveals Ohr sought job at Fusion GPS. Emails reveal she frequently sent Russia research to Bruce Ohr and other officials.

2) Nellie told congressional investigators that she initiated contact with Simpson - after seeing Simpson's name in an article.

Nellie was hired by Fusion GPS approximately eight months before the firm hired former British MI6 spy Christopher Steele, author of the dossier.

3) Bruce Ohr was notably cautious regarding his knowledge of how his wife came to be employed by Fusion:

“I don't remember who made the contact, whether she spoke with Glenn Simpson directly or whether there was another party or someone else involved. I just know it wasn't me.”

4) Email communications between Nellie and Bruce Ohr show that she routinely sent Bruce articles on Russia that carried a negative slant.

The emails, which occurred throughout Nellie’s employment with Fusion GPS, usually contained a brief commentary from Nellie.

5) Nellie knew Simpson from a 2010 conference that she and her husband, Bruce, attended.

Also present at the 2010 conference was DOJ official Lisa Holtyn, who was included on many of Nellie's emails to Bruce that contained the Russia related research.

6) Nellie later acknowledged in her testimony that Simpson must have been aware of her prior work for the CIA, given they had both participated in the same conference.

7) Bruce Ohr said that Nellie “knew Glenn Simpson for several years.”

Bruce had also previously known Simpson: “I've seen Glenn Simpson at various -- on various occasions over the years, and I believe my wife has as well.”

8) Nellie played an active role in her husband’s career, hosting two high-profile delegations in April & June 2016.

The dinners involved visits by European analysts specializing in Russian organized crime & a high-profile British delegation which included the top UK prosecutor.

9) Both of these events took place while Nellie was also engaging in research on the Trump Campaign for Fusion GPS.

The dinner with the UK director of public prosecutions (DPP) took place on June 5th - near the time Steele was hired and four days before the Trump Tower meeting.

10) Nellie testified that she and Bruce shared a personal email account. This made it difficult to distinguish whether Nellie or Bruce were responsible for sending a particular email.

11) On Dec. 11, 2016, Simpson sent an email to the shared account containing an article from ThinkProgress about the NRA’s ties to a Russian gun rights group run by Maria Butina and her boss, Alexander Torshin.

12) Approximately 50 minutes later, someone, likely Nellie, responded to Simpson with “Thank you!”

The following day, Dec. 12, 2016, Simpson emailed again—using the existing email thread from the previous day—with the short message “Please ring if you can.”

13) Six minutes later, Nellie forwarded the Simpson email to Bruce, saying “I assume Glenn means you not me.”

Two days prior, on Dec. 10, 2016, Ohr had met with Simpson who provided him with a memory stick to pass on to the FBI.

14) When questioned about the email, and how she intuitively understood Simpson’s request to call was intended for Bruce, Nellie responded evasively.

The email account was used primarily by her and she’d previously responded to an earlier email within the same email chain.

15) Nellie repeatedly invoked marital privilege, “as I understand, any communications between my husband and myself are privileged.”

As time in her interview ran out, Nellie stuck to her basic answer:

I just didn't see a reason why he would want to talk to me on the phone.
