@LukeGrahamMP on @BBCRadioScot Still talking about changes to the deal. We are in thenlast week of March and the deal has been rejected twice. Why is parliament allowed 3 votes and the UK population only allowed 1.
You say that Labour and SNP are playing party politics, but for the Conservative Party #Brexit is one long party political game. @theresa_may could have ignored the ERG who represent a minority in the country and reached out to opposition for a compromise.
People have changed and started asking to #RevokeArticle50 because #Brexit is such a mess.
How can you talk of compromise when @theresa_may's red lines were entirely formed to appease the ERG.
Finally, good to hear you support indicative votes. Here we can agree!

We asked MP @PeteWishart to get involved. His office deal with this type of issue frequently – it's not a one off, but part of the #HostileEnvironment. And what of EU27 citizens who can't afford the £1300+ to get citizenship? Or from countries which don't allow dual nationality?

Fairly sure that many EU-watchers and the public at large pretty shaken by a speech by May that did not actually tell us that much, or so it seemed. More than anything, it was the tone of blame on MPs. But I've gone through it line by line. /1

Tiresome: EUref used the general election voting list. So 'exercise' not bigger, but each vote equal unlike GE where many do not vote. /2
In fact, elections to the European Parliament in the UK are the biggest exercise as the electoral list longer (includes EU citizens), even though turnout much lower (but not voting is still a choice in an election). /3

She hasn’t changed, she hasn’t learned, she refuses to budge, she blames everyone else. Even now.

We have 10 toes dangling over our white cliffs & still the Prime Minister panders to the extremists in her party.

This isn’t leadership. This is blackmail. This is abuse of power.
If the EU grants that short extension, it makes No Deal that much more realistic, in 3 months’ time.

These are the PM’s actions in he face of her deal being overwhelmingly rejected twice by Parliament, & last Thurs vote on extension.

Desperately irresponsible from May.
These were her red lines, designed to placate her own ultras.

These have been her choices leading to a deal never put to the people.

Yet she continues to hammer out reliance on ‘will of the people’ when the people haven’t voted on this, & she wants to ask Plmnt again & again.

Interesting developments in the #Brexit front as government released yesterday plans on citizens’ rights in event of #NoDeal gov.uk/guidance/europ…
With this, we have now 2 clear scenarios in relation to team sport, football and @premierleague. Those players already in UK by 29/03, so signed before Thursday, should be allowed to stay in UK and have same rights as British players. No quotas for them or work permits.
In case of #NoDeal, clubs could sign European players after Brexit date, and those would have equal rights to British players, but only until January 1st 2021, at which point they will be subject to any new inmigration and quota scheme set by FA/Government.

If this story is correct the PM is prepared for business to implement no-deal contingency plans and leave the UK, and people and business to suffer ongoing anxieties, in the mistaken belief threatening no-deal provides negotiating leverage thesun.co.uk/news/brexit/82…
There is not the slightest piece of evidence the UK has yet obtained a single advantage by not ruling out no-deal. Mostly because international negotiations are about trying to find a landing zone rather than threatening walkouts. Also the EU never found the threat credible
Another odd story - that the UK want to write into the Withdrawal Agreement that the UK will follow EU rules in the backstop - with some role for the NI assembly. Not sure the ERG will be delighted with following all EUY rules in a permanent backstop politico.eu/article/mays-b…

To those in govt now talking of chucking Chequers for looser arrangement: IT DOESN’T SOLVE PROBLEM. Looser relationship is on offer, but only if UK signs up to Irish backstop, creating separate customs zone in Northern Ireland to rest of the UK
Second thing many MPs don’t seem to understand: the backstop is not a backstop. It is the legal reality in Northern Ireland on January 1, 2021, unless something else replaces it which keeps the province as closely aligned as the backstop envisages: ie UK wide super alignment
