How many times have you heard the words “God said” thrown all over the place?

“God said you’re my wife”, “God said you should give me 10% of your earnings”, “God said I am the next president” “God said you should leave your spouse”

1. I’ve learnt that if God told the fish he must live in water and the fish went ahead to “spread the word of God” and convinced the antelope that “God said”, it’s the antelope that dies, not the fish.

2. If “God said” to the eagle to jump off a cliff and the eagle spread the “good news” to all men and the mountain goat became a “believer” and heard “the voice of God” from the eagle and followed what “God said” and jumps, it’s the goat that dies while “obeying” God

3. In the Bible “God said” many things but please forgive me if I want to first check that your “God said” was/is relevant to me, a Nigerian, in the 21st century struggling with my own struggles.

Have you ever thought of following through with:

4. “How do you know it was God? How did you hear? What’s the purpose of what God said? What’s the purpose of God saying to you and no one else? What is God? Is it a message for you personally or for everyone?”

This should form the basis of enlightened conversation with God

5. Might I add:

Remember that goat that jumped off the cliff with the eagle? It won’t surprise me that just before he hits the ground he’ll hear a “God said you’re an idiot!”

6. Life will be significantly smoother if you Know what God is, Know what you are and know what purpose you’re chasing; otherwise, you’ll be blown, distracted and confused by everyone in your space that tells you “God said”

7. I’ve found that “God said” has a specific purpose that leads to enlightenment, peace and sound mind and till I find these 3 in your “God said” I’ll just assume “God said” but not to me.
