What is the point of organising politicians by political parties at the moment?

Not a rhetorical point, questioning why the media bother having people on as if they represent the view of a party.

MPs are split down completely different lines than their party membership now.
Case in point was Barry Gardiner this morning. I listened to that interview and like many people though: “well, he obviously thinks that and I assume the Labour leadership do too but frankly it’s wishful thinking from him to speak for the Labour Party itself”
Just being a Cabinet member and saying stuff doesn’t change fact that other people think differently

Would be good to hear some honesty from those politicians: I cant pretend I speak for the whole party or even a large section but I hope my colleagues listen and come on board
