The biggest LOL in all this is that unless Labour MPs come over in their droves, she still won’t get the deal over the line. The Tory Brexiteers will have sacrificed any vestiges of dignity, credibility and principle for absolutely nothing in return
Just picture it. Mogg & Johnson scrambling to explain they didn’t mean we’d be a slave state (Mogg) or deal was detonating a suicide belt (Johnson), it was just a fair compromise in national interest - and then deal falls again and May stays in post! These people are obscene.
Here’s the key. 2 groups still have no incentive to budge: Tory Remainers/Ind Group, and Labour MPs. Why on earth would Lisa Nandys of this world vote for a deal that hasn’t changed just to help Tory right defenestrate their leader?

Deal deserves to go down in flames, and must.

Let’s be very clear about this. The government has set a devastating trap for MPs today. It’s pretending the vote is just about the ‘admin’ of passing the withdrawal agreement, with debate on political declaration to follow. It’s a lie. Please, MPs, do not fall for it.
EU gave 22/5 as new date if gov can pass withdrawal agreement (not necessarily political declaration) by today. If MPs do so, we’ll be on a conveyor belt either to passing May’s deal unamended, or leaving with no-deal at all, and nobody will be able to do a thing about it.
Hate backstop? Tough. Want to negotiate a customs union? Forget it. We’ll be sucked into what May has wanted from the start, and what Parliament has always sought to avoid: the take-or-leave-it of May’s negotiated national humiliation or the unique catastrophe of no deal at all.

This is a fucking outrage.
No matter what Parliament says, no matter what May pretends, it always, always comes down to this: lying to MPs’ faces, using con trick after con trick to trap them into accepting the generational humiliation of May’s deal or the unprecedented catastrophe of no deal at all.
Whatever MPs protest, the government does not care. They will have their way, even if it takes the most unprecedented cynicism, dishonesty and bad faith to deliver it. It is the worst government in our modern history and it’s only getting started.

3. So why don’t Brexiteer Tory MPs move to depose the PM? Combined with other malcontents they probably have the numbers to trigger a challenge. They could rustle up a candidate who, if not ideal, would from their point of view be much better than Mrs May. So why don’t they? 3/9

First off, we must thank-you all. We launched a poll on Monday expecting maybe 500 responses maximum. Instead we had a whopping three-thousand-two-hundred-and-thirty votes on our Twitter poll.

That’s ridiculous.
We asked you which party you thought had the oldest average age of MPs.

Most of you, 66%, thought it was the @Conservatives, then the @LibDems (15%), then @UKLabour (14%), with the @theSNP coming in last with (5%).

I bet the SNP are feeling fairly youthful right about now.

(Thread) To all @UKLabour candidates in the upcoming May local elections:

Unfortunately I will not be able to vote for you as a representative of the Labour Party; this is despite having been a #Labour voter myself in the past. Please allow me to explain briefly my reasons why.
After the sacking of Owen Smith, I cannot vote for @UKLabour in any shape or form at the moment due to Jeremy Corybn's approach towards #Brexit which I view as highly undemocratic and contradictory to what the Labour party is meant to stand for ("for the many, not the few"?).
The attitude towards #Brexit by @jeremycorbyn and other hardcore Brexiteers like him really is now bordering on the fascist, something I find deeply disturbing. It seems that dissenters are being crushed.
