The indicative votes have been interpreted MPs voting against any of the Brexit options. This is not true: one way forward received overwhelming support (1/6)
If the WA is voted down, the default is that we leave on the 12th April without a deal. The only alternative in our control is for the UK to revoke A50. We can request a long extension but the EU does not have to accept this (2/6)
Even the EU grants another extension, MPs have voted against all other options so it just delays the ultimate decision between revoking A50 and leaving w/o a deal (3/6)
Theresa May has stated that No-deal Brexit would not happen without MPs approval. The indicative vote on Motion L (Revoke A50 to avoid no deal) explicitly asked MPs to be able to vote to revoke A50 if the WA is not approved & no deal is the only option (4/6)
MPs voted overwhelmingly to reject Motion L (Revoke A50 to avoid no deal). @theresa_may now has MPs approval to leave with no deal if the WA is not approved. She must proceed on that basis (5/6)
Leaving with no deal now has MPs approval & is in line with the Govt’s manifesto. The EU & UK can be ready by 12 April. It is no-one’s 1st choice but it will end uncertainty for business & start to bring the country together again (6/6)
Postscript: other motions rejected no deal but that just reflects it is no-ones 1st choice. They were not in the context of the alternative being revoking A50.
