Humphryd tough questioning to Liam Fox: if we don't Leave properly what do you think will be the reaction?
'A lot of this has been manipulated by MPs who think it's best we do not leave the EU'. That's Humphrys talking, not Fox.
Did he ask the government minister what he wanted to talk about before the interview and then decide to say it himself?
It actually got worse. Humphrys encouraging Fox to adopt Leave.EU style threats about civil society breakdown. Fox resisted. He was literally more moderate than the BBC interviewer.
Heard some shitty interviews on Today since this process started. That was one of the worst.

You can see the sense in this, but the notion of implication doesn't seem to have much effect on MPs right now. They're more concerned with what's in front of them and answering to their base on how they voted on it.
So the fact that we'd take part in European elections can be waved away as the fault of May's weakness, or Remainers. But the vote on the deal is personal.
Anyway I refuse to give a fuck about any of this right now. But tomorrow will clearly be another day of hell, at the end of which we'll end up exactly where we started.

Truly terrible to try and separate withdrawal agreement from political declaration.
The backstop constitutes the most significant self-imposed downgrading of this country's status in its lifetime. Without the political declaration, you cannot assess how likely it is to come into force.
The withdrawal agreement simply cannot be evaluated on its own.

1. The Ref MPs voted for was advisory
2. Cameron then made it binding in the minds of voters who don't understand the niceties of our constitution, which was shabby & underhand of him, because he created a political imperative to take the Ref advice

Parliament never formally made the decision to leave, but gave Mrs May the power to trigger #Article50 through the shameful A50 Bill (launched before its rubbish White Paper was released), which converted Parliament into an irrelevant rubber stamp in the #Brexit process.

@TomTugendhat @Andrew_Adonis 4. Under pressure from the Economic Ruin Group (ERG), Mrs May triggered A50 prematurely, without impact assessments and, crucially, without agreement in her party as to what form #Brexit should take, let alone a plan.

This is gonna be long, but I think it's worth it. A well-regarded twitter poster, let’s call him Giorgio, has recently publish a thread stating among other things as follows. “The pathways to stopping or delaying Brexit are blocked.
But once the mandate is discharged, the pathways to UK rejoining, or being in a close association agreement with EU, within the single market and customs union, will be open, with no obstacles.”
This approach annoys me for two reasons, one because Giorgio seems to be attempting to cajole Remainers to put all activity on hold until we actually leave the #EU.
