/ Welcome to Monday in the independent republic of Brexiandia
/ The weekend saw another two days tick by while the UK's leading political parties argue over what Brexit means 🙄
/ Labour now take the position it wants to stay in A not The customs union where everything stays the same and they let the EU determine trade policy.
/ Thr Government won't challenge that too much because it turns out Global Liam Fox is not only deluded but also hampered by the real world. Who knew?
/ Still @jeremycorbyn suffers from the same Brexitydia which is a terrible wasting disease because he also thinks leaving the EU will result in a massive economic dividend. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…
/ If only some in the Labour Party could point out staying in the SM is also crucial to trade and the economy and paying for @jeremycorbyn 's lavish spending plans. Oh....amp.theguardian.com/politics/2018/…
/ I mean the the leader of the Labour heartlands of Wales which voted leave thinks we should stay in the SM and a CU
/ So we can now add Wales to Gibraltar, Scotland, Northern Ireland, all major U.K. cities, Cornwal and Grimsby who think Brexit to be a pile of 💩
/ No doubt the Government will slap Wales down. I mean Scotland wants to have "managed divergence" on trade rules but the Government has rightly said this is ludicrous
/ It would make the UK economy disjointed suffering all sorts of needless disruption while the Government embarks on its own programme of disjointed economic suffering and needless disruption 🤤
/ Here is an example of such disruption. U.K. Broadcasters rely in EU rules to make services available in the EU. Post Brexit they will have to leave to do so. Brexit again proving that Global Britain will lead the 🌎in exporting jobs from its own people irishtimes.com/business/media…
/ to be fair to the Tory party not all MPs have had the Brexit lobotomy
/ But enough of them have that mean former civil servants now take the approach of a parent telling a child it will have to learn from its own mistakes as it sticks a nail in an electric socket
/ Although some currently in the civil service are doing their utmost to avoid the unfolding disaster
/ Other doing their best include to mitigate disaster include the EU and Ireland on the need to avoid a hard border and also damage Ireland's economy ft.com/content/56dbd2…
/ Implementing para 49 of the phase 1 deal should mean following SM and CU rules as a fallback. Now imagine if the UK backtracks from that and the GFA and what message that would send to the world?
/ It would show the U.K. cannot be trusted and would make a mockery of @LegatumInst already wanky idea that the UK can then liberalise the world via the WTO 🦄🦄🦄
/ It also explains why Ireland thinks this may be necessary which quite some indictment on U.K. GOV
/ Still it is not all bad news as it appears there is just not enough time to legislate for Brexit independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…
/ Until you remember that that is irrelevant as the Brexit day is 29 March 2019 unless the UK persuades the EU to move the date back. Imagine the outcry if the EU told the UK to go whistle...
/ Still that is what comes from pushing a policy that has no plan. It is a bit like trying to travel by public transport in the snow in the U.K. Pointless. 🕊
