This was not a turnout problem for Democrats in Wisconsin.

The map is remarkable. No matter how this turns out, it is not a good look for Democrats.

With no big blue vote out, Hagedorn's lead cross over 5k.
Just for those asking, it's now:

Brian Hagedorn: 50.2%592,124
Lisa Neubauer: 49.8%587,016
3561/3638 (98%) Precincts Reporting,

Stunning 1,179,140 total votes counted.
Hagedorn was leading Neubauer in Outagamie by a larger margin. It has tightened. He leads now 54/45. They will decide.
Hagedorn's lead inches back up over 5k.

1. All jobless claims reports for periods covering tomorrow's #JobsReport were rock solid. Today's mirrored a level not seen since December 6, 1969.

Consensus forecast is 170K, ranging from 145K to 218K.

Wage forecast = 3.4%, ranging from 3.1% to 3.9%.

2. If that wage (AHE) forecast is met, or even if it meets the low end of the forecast range at 3.1%, it'll be the 8th consecutive month of wage growth above 3%. No matter, we have not seen real wage pressure like this since before the Great Recession. ppdnews.us/1WnTuVS
3. Almost makes the headline jobs number a moot point if that wage forecast is met. That's why Americans are self-reporting such high sentiment and optimism surrounding the labor market and economy. Don't be surprised if we see either a significant revision or inflated number.

Howard Schultz says China is not an enemy of the United States, while Russia is an enemy.
And Howard Schultz followed that up by saying "without question" Russia is the number one enemy of the United States.

But China is "a fierce competitor."

That's pretty special.
This isn't a dig on Howard Schultz. It's just the truth. China is a far greater threat to the United States than Russia, which at this point barely holds regional hegemony.

Let’s add a little context to the discussion of voting security in the US. To do that, I’m going to do something Computer Scientists are bad at - I’m going to talk about history. Specifically, let’s look at the Help America #Vote Act (HAVA) of 2002. 1/
The reason to talk about HAVA is to start recognizing some of the challenges of paper ballot-based voting. HAVA came about largely because paper ballots were proving to be extremely difficult to manage. 2/
For instance, paper ballots are expensive (they’re not printed on standard college-rule paper), and they’re not reusable across elections. You’ve also got to try and guess who is going to show up to the poll, and how many ballots you’ll need in each language. 3/
