@HQNigerianArmy it’s a damn shame when your men turn on the same civilians they are meant to defend and resort to assaulting them. It’s more shameful when such assault occur in the course of such citzens being law-abiding citizes
@HQNigerianArmy i was on my way from court with my colleague when we encountered the usual traffic at the bridge by Onikan stadium. As usual, impatient motorists had created illegal extra lanes in an attempt to cut into the dual lanes to descend the ramp by Muson centre
As a law-abiding citizen, I maintained my place on the valid lane for over 40 minutes as the traffic rolled by. @HQNigerianArmy your men obviously had other ideas as they tried to cut into my front from the illegal lane just as i was about to enter the ramp to descend.
@HQNigerianArmy your men’s inability to cut corners and enter my lane seemed to infuriate them
@HQNigerianArmy one of them stepped out with his koboko, forced open my car door and started dragging & flogging me and my colleague (who happens to be legally blind yet wasn’t spared from his rage) repeatedly simply because i failed/refused to allow them to cut into my lane
@HQNigerianArmy after a couple of strokes of the koboko i mustered the strength to jam my door and lock the door. This did not seem to deter your officer from further assaulting us as he kept hitting my car with his fists and koboko leaving scratches and dents
@HQNigerianArmy after seemingly dispersing his rage, your officer returned to the his vehicle (a peugeot with plate-NA 449 BOB).
The officer driving the vehicle then proceeded to signal to one of the roadside hawkers to probably call one of his colleagues in front while pointing repeatedly at my car.
Sensing danger i summoned a roadside hawker to get me the plate number of their vehicle. At this point he caught on to me and proceeded to put distance between his car and mine obviously in an act of cowardice to avoid the backlash from his colleague’s actions
I proceeded to drive slowly to capture their vehicle details which I eventually succeeded in doing at the ramp/diversion leading to Bonny camp which I suspect was their destination
@HQNigerianArmy it’s disappointing how the actions of a few uncouth barbarians in your force attempt to taint the image of the Nigerian Army in bad light by turning on the same civilians they swore to protect
It is even more disgusting that a @followlastma vehicle drove by in the midst of the traffic madness yet did nothing to stem the illegality going on and control traffic
@HQNigerianArmy is it safe to say that we’re witnessing the descent of the noble Nigerian Army into the same ignominy which the Special Anti-Robbery squad (SARS) has sunk into.
@HQNigerianArmy is it safe to say that at the sight of your men/vehicles on the road we should run and cower in fear
@HQNigerianArmy this country is plagued by various elements which make the average Nigerian fear for his life Should we add the men of the Nigerian Army as well
@AkinwunmiAmbode Sir, as the governor of Lagos i hold the firm belief that the negligence of @followlastma in curbing the traffic and stemming creation of illegal lanes which led to this madness must not be allowed to stand. Same goes for you Sir @jidesanwoolu as the incoming Gov
@MBuhari as the GCFR of this country i believe that this travesty shall not be allowed to stand and i hope @HQNigerianArmy will be able to bring these brutes to book
@MBuhari i hope you can use your good office as @NGRPresident to make a point that such conduct must not be tolerated in our country. It beats my imagination why i would be subjected to such treatment in the course of my daily business
Please RT, hopefullythis can reach the appropriate quarters @OgbeniDipo @DrJoeAbah @PaulUsoroSAN @SubDeliveryZone @TundeEdnut @instablog9ja @thepamilerin
@HQNigerianArmy it appears your men are learning a thing or two from the now-rogue unit of @PoliceNG (SARS) in harassment and oppression of innocent citizens. Please i urge you to put a stop to it as soon as possible. Harassment of civilians by military personnel must end🙅🏾‍♂️
@HQNigerianArmy it’s upsetting that these are the same cowards who would probably run and hide at the sight of fighters of the Boko Haram menace yet feel free fo flex muscles and inflict indignity on hapless citizens
@HQNigerianArmy please take this up as i hope to pursue this to a logical end and avoid the same fate befalling someone else
@HQNigerianArmy kindly tackle this issue as the indignity, pain, suffering and embarrassment I suffered today threatens to put a dent in my admiration to the Nigerian Army which i hitherto had the utmost respect for
@HQNigerianArmy @MBuhari @ProfOsinbajo things like this should not happen in a sane Nigeria that your administration is building...citizens should not be subjected to such inhuman treatment
