Assange doesn't have many friends but it seems ironic that he has been charged by the U.S. with conspiracy to hack a government computer. It might also put a new slant on the Weiner laptop scam that fooled Comey into reopening the investigation into Clinton.
Assange had a broadcast contract with state-owned Russia Today since April 2012, Despite being a Russian media source, Trump mentioned Wikileaks 124 times in the last month of his campaign. In April 2018, Trump said "I know nothing about Wikileaks" assets.documentcloud.org/documents/3254…

Cubans were indentured mercenaries to the Soviets to survive, we are becoming indentured mercenaries to the Arab dictators. Controversial? No it began with Gulf War 2000 which led to 9/11, which dragged us into Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and soon Iran. Israel is the casus belli.

There’s one positively enormous shoe that still hasn’t dropped in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference with the 2016 campaign:

The operation was more wide-ranging than many remember. It wasn’t just emails stolen, either — posted material ranged from Democratic Party turnout data a GOP operative thought was “probably worth millions of dollars” to even a purported picture of Michelle Obama’s passport.
Trump associates tried to get involved w either Russian-provided dirt, hacked Dem emails, or WL at least 6x. We don’t yet know if they were successful — but Papadopoulos has already pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about the matter, and began cooperating with Mueller’s team.
