“Disgust” is an interesting thing.

Disgust is what we attach to things we consider immoral: killing, stealing etc.

But with incest it’s different
Although almost all contemporary human societies consider incest as immoral, disgust’s function in incest avoidance is argued to be distinct from disgust’s function in nonsexual social domains, fx murder and theft (Haidt et al., 1997)
The point here is that societies use disgust to reject certain values and shape our collective morals, but incest is inherently something humans reject.

Obviously, even the humans most natural inclinations can be suppressed and replaced by deep and thorough conditioning
Now, by simply observing the direction politicians are moving in terms of sexual liberation and freedom, it is not difficult to find pro-incest groups, who are seeking power.

Not many years ago, a Danish political party proposed legalizing incest in Denmark.
Even if you believe that point is far fetched, one cannot deny that sexual liberation and freedom is considered progressive, and that it inevitably will lead to the legalization of incest and other sexual acts considered immoral in this moment of time.
One way to normalize certain behaviors, is simply by introducing it in small doses through mediums that people consider harmless, and then eventually ramp up the exposure.
Perhaps 10 years ago, we’d consider entertainment that included incest as unacceptable.

Even imagining incest being a small part of something we recreated in entertainment was a stretch.
Today however, incest is a part of our entertainment, and while to some it may seem harmless, I’d argue that every sensory input is either willingly rejected or unwilling accepted to a certain degree .
We may not accept is as moral, but the constant exposure and normalization of it, will inevitably lead to a society desensitized by the act of incest, and eventually result in its legalization.
