Following yet another synagogue shooting I have seen those on the left say that again this is evidence that Jews face more of a risk from the right than the left. On the face of it this seems accurate until you bother to look deeper at the real threat the left pose.

If you look at terrorism in the uk over the last 50 years very little has been carried out by right wing extremists, with notable exceptions such as #jocox. We had a wave of murders by Irish republicans mainly left wing groups often targeting based on religion

In the last 20 years the majority of attacks in the uk have been by Islamic terrorists, again often targeting based on the religion or perceived religion of the victims. But of the classic far right terrorist there has been very little.

Where is the threat from the left?
To the Jewish community there will always be a threat from the far right but this threat isnt unique to us, they are just as likely to attack our Muslim friends. The threat is from the left

The left demonise us and lie about us in the same way as the far right but where the left differ is the sophistication of the approach to Jews & the influence it has on vulnerable young people who may then become radicalised.

Over the last three years we have seen a major increase in the use of antisemitism by the left to demonise Jews. If you stand up & point out what they are doing then you are attacked from all corners & inevitably Israel will be mentioned. And this is where the threat rises

Many on the left have a binary approach to Israel. They simply see Israel as wrong & the Palestinians as always the brave underdog. No conflict such as this can be so clear cut in reality, but to the left that doesn’t matter.

We are called baby killers, accused of genocide, the term apartheid is now constantly attached to Israel and these views are becoming part of the mainstream and it gets into the narrative that vulnerable people, in danger of radicalisation hear on a daily basis

Whilst the lefty college lecturer may feel they are not a threat to Jews when they demonise Israel, the fact is they are. They may not point the gun or even load it, they don’t pay for the bullet, but they do help twist the mind of the person who will.

But with the left the hatred of Israel has become mainstream. We see shadow cabinet ministers tweet lies & propaganda designed to ferment hatred against Jews. We see the leader of the opposition calling terror groups who have murdered Jews across the world ‘friends’

When did any right wing political party call a terror group targeting Muslims or black people ‘friends’? It doesn’t happen.
The left will say ‘but I’m not targeting Jews I’m targeting Israel’ great well done but the young man strapping the suicide vest on sees them as the same

When you demonise & lie about Israel you encourage hamas & hezbollah, they see they are winning the war of public opinion & it encourages them to carry out more attacks, to randomly stab a Jew to death in Israel or blow up a pizza parlour.

Those on the left do not plant the bomb or pull the trigger. They encourage others to do so, they fund it, the enable it and they are ultimately responsible for those deaths.
As a result the left currently poses a much greater risk to the worlds Jews

Since writing this tweet a labour member has called on a mob to march on a local synagogue. Why? Because a nasty local antisemite was suspended by labour. But they are ‘anti zionists ‘ so why target a synagogue?
