NEWS: Barr will not show up to tomorrow’s House Judiciary Committee hearing, per an aide. The committee is expecting a letter shortly. Subpoena likely forthcoming.
Doug Collins confirms Barr won’t show up, accuses Nadler of “torpedoing” the hearing.
Nadler tells us Barr has just informed the committee he will not show up.

He also announces that DOJ won’t comply with the subpoena for the full Mueller report which was due today.
NADLER says he’ll seek a contempt citation against Barr if DOJ doesn’t comply with the subpoena over the next couple of days.
🚨 Nadler says they’re “seeking to firm up,” with DOJ, MAY 15 as the date for Mueller to testify before the House Judiciary Committee.

salon.com/2019/05/02/bil… Bill Barr was too scared to show up at today’s House Judiciary hearing. Well, he has every reason to be. He’s in an untenable position, trying to cover up for Donald Trump, i.e. 270 pounds of guilt wrapped in an orange-skinned wrap.
One wonders why Barr has taken on this task of masterminding Trump’s cover-up. I have a theory: For the “cover-up general”, this represents a major professional challenge that could be his crown and glory of a career of doing evil.
The main GOP tactic to protect Trump appears to be taking umbrage at the idea that big, important men like themselves should have to answer to questions from the common people. Fox News viewers dig it, but I’m guessing most others won’t like that at all.

NEW: DOJ confirms AG Barr will not show up tomorrow for a hearing before the House Judiciary Comm.

"Congress and the Executive branch are co-equal branches of government, and each have a constitutional obligation to respect and accommodate one another’s legitimate interests."
DOJ objected to the committee's plan to have staff attorneys question the AG in addition to members.

this back & forth has been intense. first goodlatte threatened a subpoena, then strzok said he would voluntarily testify & do so publicly, then goodlatte subpoenaed strzok, then strzok said he would come on his own & subpoena was rescineded. strzok gives private 11 hr interview.
then strzok demands private interview made public with classified redactions & wants public testimony. no movement on release but hints of july 10 public testimony. strzok lawyer says july 10 doesn’t work and now he may only testify before other congressional committees.
