For starters the infrastructure he mentions begin with multi-billion $ transmission lines both to the wind & solar farms, as well as to the Snowy 2, 3 & 4`s. Then the costs get worse from there.

We should be discussing the *full* system costs without fear nor favour. Then people like @swrighteconomy could get to the heart of the matter. How do you get the deep decarbonisation we need, and do it in the best way possible? 3/x

So negative prices right? Easily solved with those storage options we've heard so much about lately.

So maybe combined renewables + storage then? Bypass the market (Lincoln Gap is to have a 10MW battery btw… which will do exactly not much). But if that were to work, then the Port Augusta solar thermal project surely would have got up? So that path seems unlikely now. 8/9
