She has an Israeli born father and a USSR born mother: 
She says her father remains an Israeli citizen, her mother was a Soviet citizen until 1969. She says some of her family were ’stateless refugees’ on arrival in Australia. (That’s a meaningless UN label for s44 purposes. S44 is about foreign law, not the UN.)
She also has an Israeli citizen husband. She says this doesn't make her a citizen automatically. She has to apply (so a possible entitlement problem, but no-one knows how that bit of s44 works.)
As far as Israeli citizenship goes, she offers only a letter saying that she isn't a registered Israeli. (Received a month before nominations closed.) But this doesn't prove she isn't Israeli, just that Israel doesn't know about her.
So: is she Israeli?: refworld.org/docid/3ae6b4ec…. She's born outside Israrl to a father who is an Israeli national. We don't know how he was an Israeli national, though - but it's surely likely it was by birth to an Israeli patent, or by residence.
Looks like a much clearer problematic s44 case for a major party candidate than has come up so far in this election. And in a key seat too, a three-way contest between Lib, Lab and Greens. Golly! I can't believe the Libs took this risk.
Re her entitlement by marriage (if she isn't already a citizen): all she has to do is apply and declare loyalty. No need for a link to Israel or renouncing her Australian citizenship. So, one of the stronger entitlement cases too.
Also, Israeli law clearly permits dual nations by descent.
The three-way contest invites the (unlikely) argument that her ineligibility may be a ground for a challenge to tge result in Macnamara even if she loses.
No sign of registration as a precondition to citizenship. You can ask the Minister for a certificate if you want. Not clear if Ashmor asked for that - it doesn't look like it from the response she got.
