Nobody is entitled to a news article singing their praises, @ZachW_KLKN. The media ignores vigils and honors every day. There was no reason to praise this man (& ignore his victim!) given the high likelihood you were praising a mother-killer where his kids would read it.
Imagine being in a home where your father shot your mother four times in the head, perhaps in front of you. Imagine reading a news article that doesn't talk about her but calls him a "good person" over and over.
Imagine how that devalues her and tells you the fear and shame and horror in your heart is inaccurate. Imagine being an abused woman and seeing your local news confirm that your husband will be believed automatically even after killing you.
If you start off truly believing that women's and children's lives and minds are as valuable as men's, you do not think it's more important to praise that man than it is to wait.
