Be aware, there are tactical voting guides to the European elections going around that model a scenario with 50% tactical voting. Think about how unlikely that is: 1 in 2 Remain voters studying the field carefully and deciding to vote tactically? Really? Does that seem credible?
Do you really see hundreds of thousands of people all looking at the EE that intently? If you're thinking of voting tactically, that's great news... pro-Remain parties need all the help they can get! But there has to be at least a veneer of realism to the advice, don't you think?
So what is realistic? It's finger in the wind, how long is a piece of string territory. But maybe 10% on a good day? That could still be enough to tip the balance in the right areas, but not if the advice being given is hopelessly out of kilter due to over-optimism.
Remember, most of the population aren't on Twitter. And although that probably applies less to keen pro-Remain folks, it's still a stretch to imagine they'll come across the right advice, read it, and heed it.
But that doesn't mean it's a wasted exercise. In the right circumstances, 10% makes a big difference.
