@newscientist @ClareWilsonMed A possible sticking point was whether this was a fair swap. In theory, a liver is worth more than a kidney. But Deveza had no doubts. “I was losing hope and I really wanted to do something.”
The hospital gave the go-ahead and the four operations took place on the same day. In the following weeks, Deveza noticed how tired she felt as her body regrew her liver. “It was like bad jet-lag."
