Good morning. ☕ It's another banner week for Trump's controversial judges getting confirmed. Let's see where we are! (1/x)
Yesterday the Senate confirmed Kenneth Lee, 43, to a lifetime seat on a U.S. circuit court. He has a record of offensive writings and both of his home-state senators opposed him being nominated at all. But Republicans confirmed him anyway. (2/x) huffpost.com/entry/senate-t…
Here's a sampling of things Lee has written in the past. Not great, but oh well, he'll be a federal judge for decades now! (3/x)
Meanwhile, the Senate is voting at noon today to confirm Wendy Vitter, 58, to a lifetime seat on a U.S. district court. She's a vocal opponent of abortion rights who initially didn’t tell senators about the extreme stuff she said in the past. They found out anyway. (4/x)
Vitter has said Planned Parenthood "kills over 150,000 females a year" and told audience members at an event to get their doctors to put materials in their waiting rooms saying that abortions cause breast cancer. That's... not true. (5/x) huffpost.com/entry/wendy-vi…
Wendy Vitter is also happens to be married to former Sen. David Vitter, who played a key role in getting his former Senate seat filled by Bill Cassidy, who recommended Wendy Vitter's name to the White House for a judgeship. Quid pro quo, anyone? (6/x)
Anyway, Vitter is getting her confirmation vote at noon today and is all but certain to be confirmed. Susan Collins is the only R I know of who is planning to vote no.

Blessed be the fruit! (7/7)
